Organize highlights by appearance order instead of creation date
if I go back to a highlighted article and add more highlights, the new highlights show up chronologically in LINER instead of by order of appearance inside the text.
For example, I initially highlight 2 key sentences in a paragraph. Then I go back and highlight the paragraph header that appears before those key sentences in the text.
In Liner, I will see this highlight order:
- Key Sentence 1 (highlight created first)
- Key Sentence 2 (highlight created second)
- Paragraph header (highlight created last)
But I want to be able to see it like this:
- Paragraph header (highlight appears 1st in text)
- Key Sentence 1 (highlight appears 2nd in text)
- Key Sentence 2 (highlight appears 3rd in text)
This chronological ordering makes highlights completely unusable whenever you go back to re-highlight an article.
Here's another use case to explain the issue. Say the middle of the article contains a list:
introduction
- list item a
- list item b
- list item c
conclusion
Initially I highlight: list item a & conclusion. Then I re-read the text and highlight list item c, and the introduction.
In Liner I get this order:
- list item a
- conclusion
- list item c
- introduction
In practice, it makes the logic much harder to follow and sometimes unreadable.
