Make pop-ups for pdf optional
As a user, I read a lot of .pdf files on my browser. Sometimes I'll highlight multiples things, but most of the time I actually might not need to highlight anything at all, and could just be skimming or checking out a .pdf file. Everytime I open a .pdf file with the LINER extension, it offers to save the .pdf, disregarding my needs. For example perhaps this .pdf file isn't even a piece of writing, but just a informational .pdf I'd like to print out.
Please give some ability to have LINER NOT prompt you every time you open a .pdf. It hinders my workflow, as I have to click an 'x' to remove the popup. I will uninstall the plugin until the option is given to remove this notification upon opening a .pdf. Perhaps including the feature in the LINER icon, but not abruptly forcing it.

Additionally, adding inline UI elements to a site unpromptedly makes me want to uninstall LINER. When reading a medium article, there's a switch to notify me I can start highlighting. Not only does this create cognitive load and confusion since the user was already given two ways to start highlighting during the onboarding process (Ctrl+Shift+L and `), it's useless because if I wanted to toggle the highlighter off, I would have to scroll to the top of the page to flip the switch.
I want the ability to disable modifying the web page without my permission, as I don't want to highlight every Medium article I read.
